  • For patients with “XT” DRS, the ipsilateral lateral rectus undergoing the Y-splitting should be recessed.
  • Y-split of the lateral rectus muscle without recession. The halves of the lateral rectus muscle are reattached to sclera above and below the lateral rectus insertion.
  • Y-split lateral rectus muscle with a 4mm recession for an XT Duane’s retraction syndrome.
